Effects of a Poor Setup!

Keegan Bradley is being forced by the length of his golf club in to a setup position that is bent too far forwards. This causes the excessive lateral bending seen in the right picture. Scientific studies show that our ability to make a bend of this nature decreases with age. A 35 year old can only perform 50% of this bending when compared to a teenager. Like most top players Keegan started playing golf at a very young age, he has trained this movement repeatedly since childhood, his age in the picture is 28. The movement of Ben Hogan left is a more natural movement for the body to perform, it is also easier to learn. Both golfers have their weight on the left leg which is stable. ALL top golfers achieve a similar leg position, in comparrison 80 % of amature golfers do not.continue
