Natural Movements!

I have often heard, also from tour players, that the movement in golf is different from that of other sports, this is simply not so. The sports may look generally different but in every sport where an object is either thrown, or hit with bat or racquet with power, a similar chain of movement occurs. The larger muscles of the legs and rump drive the body forwards with a rotation in the direction of the hit or throw. The legs are followed by the hips, shoulders and lastly the arms. When the sequence of movement is optimised both power and accuracy are enhanced, without it they suffer. The golf swing should be a natural and comfortable flowing movement. The natural flow can be destroyed by misconceptions held by the golfer as to how the swing should be. A few examples being, keep the head down or still, look at the ball, stiff left arm and there are many more examples. Insufficient golf club length can also destroy this natural chain of movement.continue
