Effects of a Poor Setup!

Take a look at the leg position of both players. ALL top golfers, without exception, achieve a similar leg position. A coordinated and well-timed leg action delivers significant power and accuracy to the shot. The vast majority of amateur golfers do not achieve this leg action. One reason why is that they do not have the flexibility to achieve the excessive lateral bending seen on the right. This forces them to compensate and the all-important leg action remains elusive. Scientific studies show that our ability to make a bend of this nature decreases with age. A 35 year old can only perform 50% of this bending when compared to a teenager. The average age of a golfer in the UK in 2014 was 63 years. Keegan is aged 28 in the picture and the excessive lateral bending is a direct result of a golf club which is simply too short.continue
